Did you see this live performance of And Then The Girls yet? It features a sequin top I made out of the fabric I bought in NYC a few months back.

Adventures in Sewing: Chapter 2
I know you are all dying to know how my sewing projects are coming along…. You’re thinking, “Has she done anything with the fancy new fabric she bought in NYC yet??” Well I won’t keep you in suspense any longer! I present to you my very first pair of leggings:

I am quite shocked that I actually managed to pull it off. And I am amazed at how simple it was. I found a tutorial online that just had you trace out your own pattern based on your measurements. Sew 2 seams, add a waistband, hem the bottoms, and voila!
Of course I act like it was so simple now, but my boyfriend will tell you that things got a little tense between the sewing machine and me during the waistband assembly part. But I survived and ended up with a pair of fun, extremely comfortable pants! Overall success!
NYC/Villanova Trip (Part 2)
My trip to the garment district was a success. In particular, my trip to “The Spandex House” turned out to be very fruitful. I bought lots of spandex. And I also ended up with some amazing sequin fabric. I plan on attempting some leggings today….so I’ll let you know how that goes.
Our show at Glasslands Gallery was a blast. That place is super cool. (So cool in fact, they don’t even have a sign outside). We played with some great bands and had a fun time. We even made it into their photo booth for some fun pictures.

The morning after our show at Glasslands show, we said good bye to our friends from Ball Of Flame Shoot Fire. We couldn’t quite resist causing some mischief before we left though. So we decided to steal their Spiderman balloon friend.

BOFSF, if you ever want to see your precious balloon again, you better meet our demands.
We made a quick getaway from Brooklyn and headed to Villanova. (And by quick, I mean we only had to sit in an hour of traffic to get out of the city. Ahhh, New York). We played a fun show in the student center of Villanova’s campus, met some cool Villanova kids, and then we loaded up on free food from the cafeteria! It was like we hadn’t eaten in years. To-go containers full of chicken fingers, fries, salads… We took all of the food back to our cushy Marriott hotel room and watched E.T. Ahhh what a life.
Now it’s back to Pittsburgh to reunite with our loved ones and to get back to work on our new EP!
Hugs and Kisses!
